RED, WHITE AND GREEN KRATOM COLORS - KRATOM STRAINS MYTHS & FACTS

Countries, Colors and Marketing

If you’re new to buying kratom, you may feel overwhelmed by all the options available to you. Red kratom, white vein kratom, and green vein kratom. What are the differences, what do they all mean, and which one should you choose?

Bali or Maeng Da? Green Vein or White Vein? If one wants to purchase kratom, they will be inundated with a flood of kratom products with names that seem both mysterious and confusing. What are the differences and how to know which ones to buy?

WHAT IS IN A STRAIN NAME?

To put it simply, the differences in kratom strains are largely marketing. Each farm in attempting to differentiate itself, adopts a name by combining place and color, such as Red Thai, Borneo White, and Malaysian Green. The truth is though, that none of that matters. What really is important when it comes to knowing what Kratom is, comes down to three colors. Red, White and Green.

The Three Kratom Colors and their Effects

The truth is that everybody responds differently to everything, so it is impossible to guarantee a reaction to a specific strain. However, there is mostly consensus on what to expect from a color.

Red: Red is said to be king when it comes to pain relief.

Red Vein Kratom tends to be the most popular strain on the market, especially if someone is new to taking Kratom since it tends to give people a pleasant, relaxing, calming, optimistic effect. Many people find that Red Vein Kratom is excellent for both pain relief and as a sleeping aid. In fact, the strongest red-vein strains have been known to help people prevent symptoms of opioid withdrawal.

White: White is reputed to be the number one for stimulation and focus.

White Vein Kratom is widely known as a mood enhancer that increases energy, focus, motivation, and a sense of balance. White strains of Kratom tend to be the most stimulating and euphoric of all the Kratom strains. Many Kratom clients add their white Kratom to their coffee for an early morning boost and sustained stamina to their day. Some people even like to mix their white and red strains for a more balanced effect.

Green: As every Kratom consumer knows, Green is in between.

Green Vein Kratom is considered to be the best of both worlds between red and white strains. Green Vein can help boost one’s energy and mood, helping them get into the ‘flow’ of their surroundings. The Green Vein strains tend to give a more subtle effect, helping to decrease pain without causing drowsiness. In fact, many people like to mix their Green Vein Kratom with either red or white veins to help boost and balance the effects.

Several of our customers prefer the Green Vein Kratom to help with social anxiety and often take it when planning to be in social situations that may make them feel uneasy. Our customers have expressed that Green Vein Kratom helps them to come out of their shell and be more talkative, friendly, and engaging

The Origin of the Kratom Colors

Why are there different colors?

All Kratom leaves are green and almost all have red veins. When the leaves are picked for grounding, the processes which get them ready for consumption may vary and contribute to different colors with diverse levels of alkaloids.

Indoors vs outdoors:

Some dry the leaves outdoors while others dry them indoors. The heat of the sun among other factors are said to contribute to the red color of the red strain.

Kratom Blends:

Some Kratom producers may blend different colors to produce a third color shade which is then marketed as a distinct strain.

Fermented Kratom:

Other Kratom producers use a fermentation process which results in the gold or yellow color that some products have. The process of making fermented kratom begins after the fresh leaves are harvested. Rather than hanging up the leaves to dry the leaves are placed into a bag to block the moisture. This method modifies the composition of the alkaloids in the leaves giving it a rejuvenating aroma. One popular strain that is derived from fermented kratom is called Bentuangie.

The Real Hero Behind Kratom: Alkaloids

However, the real secret ingredient in Kratom is the alkaloids. The two most prominent alkaloids that have been given most of the credit are 7-hydroxy-mitragynine, and mitragynine (which later converts into mitragynine). These alkaloids are present in each Kratom strain in various ratios and can cause one strain to produce a more sedative effect while causing another to be more stimulating.

That said, everyone responds differently, so it is impossible to guarantee a reaction to a specific strain. It is for this reason that it’s recommended to experiment with different strains in small doses to find what works best for you.

Which Kratom Colors Should You Buy?

Of course, when choosing a particular strain of Kratom, it will depend on what you’re looking for and your personal preferences. While the above descriptions give a general narrative of what one can expect when choosing a particular strain, these are guidelines only. The Mitragyna Speciosa leaves and how they’re cultivated and harvested can vary by quality, geography, climate, and methods of production. This results in variation among and between strains. That’s why it might be a good idea to first purchase a sample pack to help choose the best strain for you and your needs, depending on the day, week, month, or mood!
